Distributor and retailer Distribuidora IFA has opened a store onboard Conferry's new vessel Carmen Ernestina, sailing three times daily between Venezuelan port Puerto La Cruz and the duty-free island of Margarita. The El Faro (The Lighthouse) store offers a wide range of fragrances and cosmetics alongside fashion accessories and confectionery.

The company opened its first El Faro store last year onboard Conferry's Lilia Concepcion, sailing daily between Margarita and Caracas. Distribuidora IFA president Herman Leyba told TRW that fragrance brands Trussardi, Alfred Dunhill and Yardley would feature strongly in the offer, with cosmetics from Revlon and Almay and a range of Nestle chocolates.

The Carmen Ernestina will carry a maximum of 2,400 passengers daily between the two ports.
