Dimensi scoops inaugural KLIA retail award

The beauty, fashion, watches and cigars retailer has been named Kuala Lumpur International airport’s retailer of the year

Kuala Lumpur International airport (KLIA) retailer Dimensi Eksklusif's cigar outlet has been named retail outlet of the year in the airport’s inaugural awards, designed as an incentive to its service partners. The retailer, which operates beauty, fashion and cigar outlets at the airport and will shortly open its first watches outlet in partnership with domestic retailer Swiss Union, joined Malaysia Airlines (overall carrier of the year), KLM (foreign carrier of the year) and McDonalds (food and beverage outlet of the year) in receiving honours.

Dimensi managing director Zainul Azman said that the winners were picked based on passenger movements, sales growth, sales performance, presentation, international recognition and service standards. He said that the cigar shop was chosen on the basis of its strong sales performance in relation to the size of the shop.

The awards were launched to celebrate the fourteenth anniversary of national airport authority Malaysia Airports, as well as KLIA winning the award for world’s best airport serving 15-30m passengers from AETRA.

Malaysia Airports managing director Dato Seri Bashir Ahmad said: “Being accredited with the world's best airport title is something that we have always aspired to achieve. It would have just remained a dream had it not been for the excellent support and contributions of all those individuals and organisations that have made KLIA what it is today."
