Diageo restructures duty-free business
Joe Bates
Travel-retail¹s leading liquor supplier Diageo is in the process of restructuring its Global Duty Free arm, organising it into three regional teams and putting a greater focus on customer service
Diageo¹s duty-free business was previously structured around five geographical regions, but it is now to be reduced to three sub-divisions headed by regional directors, who will report to new managing director Ron Anderson.
Diageo Global Duty Free customer director Australia Pacific David Segreto has been named regional director for the Asia/Pacific region, while Olaf Grewe, currently customer director Europe North, has been appointed regional director for Europe. Customer director Americas South Marc Mirgel will return to Germany after three years in the US. His new role and the name of his successor will be announced in due course.
Meanwhile, Peter Jacobson will fill the new role of commercial director, overseeing global duty-free sales and commercial capabilities. Long-serving customer director Asia/Pacific Trevor Adsett will leave the company after assisting Segreto to set up the expanded Asia/Pacific division.
All appointments are effective from July 1.
