Drinks company Diageo has donated €50,000 ($64,665) to the ETRC's fund so it can continue to lobby issues related to the security rules for carry on liquids and gels

Diageo has pledged €50,000 ($64,665) to the European Travel Retail Council ‘s (ETRC) fund to help it address matters related to the security rules on carry on liquids and gels. The news follows Dufry Group’s €50,000 donation yesterday.

ETRC president Frank O’Connell asked each company that attended the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last month to donate €3,000 ($3,889) to its fund, but pointed out “we will need more”. He told exhibitors: “Our success to date has saved hundreds of millions in sales. It is essential that everyone supports this because the whole industry will benefit.”
