Speciality retail concessions for sunglasses and women’s fashion and accessories as well as a contract for massage and spa services are available

The City and County of Denver Department of Aviation has issued requests for proposals for new retail concessions at Denver International airport. The contracts are for a massage and spa service, a sunglasses store and a women’s fashion and accessories outlet. Each concession will run for five years and the closing date for applications is May 30.

The 608sq ft (56sq m) massage and spa concession is in concourse A and is non-exclusive, which means that the airport can award other similar or identical concessions nearby. The contract is based on a minimum annual guarantee (MAG) and the successful applicant will pay 10% of rent for the first $1m in sales, rising to 12% for sales from $1m to $2m, and 14% for sales over $2m. Additional spa services will be limited to manicures and pedicures and spa products will also be available.

A non-exclusive 454sq ft (42sq m) sunglasses concession is also available in the airport’s Jeppesen terminal. The winner must pay a MAG and 10% of rent for the first $1m in sales, 12% for sales of $1m–2m and 14% for sales of more than $2m. Related products such as reading glasses, ski goggles and repair kits may also be offered, but ancillary products must represent no more than 20% of display space.

The 474sq ft (62sq m) non-exclusive women’s fashion and accessories concession will be on concourse B, and will offer various items including women’s clothing and accessories, jewellery, scarves, belts, sweaters and jackets. The winning bidder will be required to pay a MAG plus 14% of rent.
