The company, which guarantees $60m a year to the State Department of Transportation under its latest five-year concession, is struggling to meet its terms in Hawaii and some locations on the US west coast.
(2-Sep-2003) - HAWAII. DFS Group?s contract at Hawaii?s airports and downtown duty-free stores is to be retendered this month after it reached an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation in the long-running dispute over an estimated $49m in back rent owed by the operator.
(13-Mar-2002) - HAWAII. The State Department of Transportation is reconsidering plans to double duty-free space in the main terminal at Honolulu International airport, where DFS Group is the operator. The airport has been hit hard by the fall in Asian passenger numbers since September 11.
