DFNI Product Awards 2005 winners unveiled

The winners of this year's coveted product awards are revealed in DFNI December 15, 2005

Each year DFNI's team of product specialists reviews the best launches, new stores and marketing campaigns of the past 12 months to compile the DFNI Product Awards, a discrete but important addition to the travel-retail awards calendar. In DFNI December 15, out now, the DFNI Product Awards 2005 celebrate the best suppliers in travel-retail and retailers who have shown commitment to product categories through store openings.

Winners of the best new product award in each category were: Shanghai Tobacco/Camus International/DFS Group for Chunghwa XO (liquor); Habanos for Partagas Serie P No2 (tobacco); Lancaster Group for Calvin Klein Euphoria (women's fragrances); Estée Lauder Companies for Tommy Hilfiger's True Star Men (men's fragrances); Bobbi Brown's Eye Kohl Palette (cosmetics); Helena Rubinstein for Gold Future (skincare); Godiva Chocolatier's Platinum Collection (confectionery); Tumi for Red Trek luggage (fashion and sunglasses); Caran d'Ache for its Mario Botta pen (gifts); Minox DMP-1 camera (electronics); and Chopard/Freeport Jewellers/Bijoux Duty Free for the Om pendant (jewellery).

For best store opening, winners were: Puente Concessions' La Bodega Winery in Dallas Fort Worth terminal D (liquor); KLM Tax Free Services' cigar and whisky store at Amsterdam Schiphol (tobacco); Nuance-Watson (Singapore) for Glam Up at Singapore Changi terminal one (beauty); The Nuance Group/Toms Confectionery for the Anthon Berg shop at Copenhagen Kastrup (confectionery); Sand at Copenhagen Kastrup (fashion and sunglasses); Dixons Dual Concept at London Heathrow terminal one (gifts and electronics); and Goldsmiths at London Heathrow terminal one (jewellery and watches).

Winners of the best marketing campaign were Pilgrim, Bacardi Global Brands, Gerzon Duty Free, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Japan Tobacco International, Kraft Foods World Travel Retail and DFS Group.
