DFASS marks new year with Aeromar contract
Duty Free Air & Ship Supply (DFASS) today announced it has gained the contract to operate the duty-free programme onboard charter airline Aeromar.
The US/Dominican Republic carrier is expected to handle 600,000 to 800,000 international passengers this year from Spain, Germany and other European locations as well as New York and Miami in the US. It flies to tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
?We are delighted with this new agreement,? said DFASS director purchasing and vendor relations John Garner. ?This airline has never carried duty-free before, so we can start with a clean sheet as far as the airline and its flight attendants are concerned. Our experience with other operators in the Caribbean and Mexico puts us in a great position to maximise the revenue here. We know the passenger profile and their purchasing preferences.?
The concession begins in January 2002 and runs for five years. DFASS will provide the airline?s pouring requirements from its warehouse in Miami.
