Copenhagen "a big challenge" - Gunnar Heinemann

"We are delighted. We worked very hard on the Copenhagen bid. And it's not too far away from our home town," Gunnar Heinemann tells RavenFox.com

Speaking to RavenFox.com today, Gebr Heinemann co-owner Gunnar Heinemann said that the company would be using its knowledge of the Scandinavian market in its new six-year contract with Copenhagen Airports.

"We have gained a lot of experience in the Scandinavian market, first as distributor and then in Oslo and other Norwegian airports. I think Copenhagen is an enormous challenge, but a good one. When you work hard for something, and you have fought hard, and you get it, it's great. Although it comes at a time when things are being overshadowed by the London terror incident, I don't believe the Western world will give up mobility."

Gebr Heinemann "only found out this morning" that it had won the contract.

"The commercial side of the bid, the financial side, was strong, we believe," continued Heinemann. "And I think it helped us that we have shown in Norway what we can achieve. We are solid, we are not looking to be the biggest, but we are looking to be the quickest. This has given us the chance to show what we can do at another important airport. We wish The Nuance Group well in Sydney."
