The Danish group achieves solid profit growth in 2004, with concession revenues making a strong contribution

Copenhagen Airports posted retail concession revenues of DK439m ($77m) in 2004, up 8.2% from DK405.8m ($71.2m) in the previous year. Commercial revenues were up by 6.3%, while consolidated profit before tax reached DK817.6m ($143.4m), 34.5% higher than in 2003.

Passenger numbers increased by 7.5% last year as travellers returned after the Iraq war and SARS in 2003. Low fares resulting from greater competition among airlines also boosted numbers.

Based on traffic growth forecasts of 3% at Copenhagen Kastrup airport, the company said pre-tax profit for 2005 is expected to be DK900m ($157.9m), a 10% year-on-year increase.
