Copenhagen Airport has extended its retail contract with speciality and fashion retailer IC Companys
Copenhagen Airport has extended its speciality retail contract with Danish fashion retailer IC Companys. The speciality and fashion retailer will continue to operate at the airport until 2012 and will also increase the number of shops at the location. The Danish retailer's shops InWear and Martinique will be joined by planned stores Cottonfield, Soaked in Luxury and Peak Performance and will open after the airport's commercial extension and refurbishment.
IC Companys Denmark president and CEO Mikkel Vendelin Olesen said: "Our long term partnership with Copenhagen Airport has been very successful and we have especially benefited from the large increase in passenger numbers at the airport in recent years. Our shops have done well and we especially look forward to selling more of our brands at the airport."
"The airport is a window to the world and it is of great value to showcase Danish brands to an international audience and to the many Scandinavian passengers travelling out of Copenhagen Airport."
Copenhagen Airports vice president commercial activity Henrik Busch added: "IC Companys is one of the largest fashion houses in Denmark with great influence on the clothing habits of Danes for more than 30 years. "Our passenger base has changed in recent years with more leisure passengers with a larger percentage of women among the passengers. These are the passengers we wish to cater to...and IC Companys is a perfect match in this respect"
"IC Companys' ability to come back at full strength and with an updated identity and new concepts is very characteristic of a dynamic business model and that is the type of company we prefer to work with," revealed Busch.
