Malaysian travel retailer Colours & Fragrances has won a three-year contract extension at Kuala Lumpur International airport and will more than double its space at the location
Beauty retailer Colours & Fragrances has secured a three-year contract extension at Kuala Lumpur International airport (KLIA), with a two-year option to extend. Under the terms of the deal the company will more than double its retail space at the airport.
Colours & Fragrances buyer Amy Chew explained that the retailer's existing 150sq m (1,614sq ft) shop, located between gates 31 and 37 in KLIA's international satellite building, would be renovated and the retailer will gain extra space on the airport concourse.
"It is very good news as we have always highlighted to the airport authority [Malaysia Airports] how important it is to get the right amount of exposure for the beauty category," said Chew. "We are still discussing how we will develop the two new shops but they will be very different. We have a very challenging year ahead of us and need to be really productive."
Colours & Fragrances, owned by DR Group, also operates at three other international airports in Malaysia. It runs a 59sq m (635sq ft) site at Kota Kinabalu, a 240sq m (2,585sq ft) outlet at Langkawi and a 50sq m (540 sq ft) fragrances shop at Labuan. The company also plans to expand its 30sq m (322sq ft) fragrances and cosmetics unit at the Jetty Point ferry terminal in Langkawi.
