Former Imperial Tobacco travel-retail head joins Bacardi’s new Global Travel Retail division
Bacardi Global Travel Retail has appointed Michael Coleman as travel-retail director Europe, effective from April 30. All European travel-retail regional sales managers will report to Coleman, who will report to travel-retail managing director Maurice Doyle.
Coleman joins Bacardi from Imperial Tobacco where he worked for seven years, most recently as regional director Western Europe and previously as regional director duty-free/travel-retail and general manager Southern Europe. He previously spent four years as export area director Asia for Highland Distillers, overseeing all domestic and duty-free business in Asia/Pacific, and six years in several international sales roles for British-American Tobacco.
Doyle said: I am delighted to welcome Michael to the team. I am confident he will help build on the progress we have made over the last year in meeting our more ambitious Global Travel Retail business objectives.
Coleman added: I am extremely pleased to be joining Bacardi. Its portfolio of premium brands has grown significantly over the past few years, and I am looking forward to the challenge and responsibility of fostering their continued growth. I am also very excited to return to this dynamic and challenging business channel.
