Coe resigns from DFS Pacific

14-Jan-2003

Bob Coe, president of DFS Pacific and executive vice-president marketing has resigned and will retire from DFS on January 31

His successors in both roles will be named shortly.
Coe's resignation comes as DFS tries to renegotiate its way out of an onerous contract in Hawaii, where it is struggling to pay its minimum guarantees.

Coe joined DFS in 1984 as president of the Alaska region, and has held several key leadership positions during his tenure with DFS, including president of the Mid-Pacific region from 1989 to 1998. He was appointed executive vice-president of corporate marketing in 1998 and has continued in that role. In addition to his marketing responsibilities, he was also appointed president of the Hawaii region in 1999. Then last year he was promoted to president of the Pacific Group.

He is credited with spearheading the creation of the DFS Galleria concept with the opening of the Tumon Bay Galleria in Guam in 1995.
