Codorniu unveils new look

23-Oct-2002

Spanish wine supplierhas Codorniu created a number of new merchandising units for travel-retail

The supplier claims to be the first winemaker to commit itself to the travel-retail industry in this way, and has designed the units in cooperation with Portland Design.

The new units feature three different designs, plus a gondola that can be used individually. The tower has three tiers with a grape motif illuminated from below. A larger unit features gondola ends and measures 1.85m in length and 1.60 in height. And a wall unit is also available, with room for the full Codorniu range.

Codorniu travel-retail director Claudia Philippi told TRW: "We can't increase sales as we would like because of space limitations, out-of-stock situations and because the wine area in a lot of stores could be more attractive, especially to travellers who aren't very knowledgeable about wine. So we thought, "why not create personalised units?" We believe we are the first wine supplier to do this and we are very happy with the results."

The units also feature information for travellers about Codorniu's flagship brands, Codorniu and Raimat.
