Cochin International airport Ltd (CIAL) is to redesign its duty-free store

Cochin International airport (CIAL) plans to revamp its duty-free shop. The decision has been prompted by a boom in duty-free sales at Cochin, driven by the increasing number of low-cost airlines and special promotions, according to local reports.  CIAL will work with its duty-free operator Alpha Kreol India on the renovations.

Duty-free revenues account for 25% of the airport’s total revenue. Inbound passengers account for 50% of the annual sales spend at Cochin, which is India’s fourth largest airport.
