Cincinnati extends RFP deadline

An addendum outlining a 90-day extension of the date for submission of proposals for retail and food & beverage opportunities at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky airport was faxed this week to all potential proposers. The request for proposals (TRW Tender Alert 9/4/01) originally had a deadline of 14 November and is now due 28 February 2002.

The addendum also clarifies when the minimum annual guarantee (MAG) commences, which is in year one when the new facilities actually begin operating. During construction periods or in temporary operations no MAG is required.

An additional addendum containing responses to all questions submitted will follow in a separate fax. "There are not significant modifications to the document. All 19 RFPs are still intact," said Michael Mullaney, manager commercial and business development.

Mullaney says the airport is very optimistic about the number of proposals it will receive.

"The number of attendees at the pre-proposal conference was a good indicator of the level of interest in this project. As we have said, Cincinnati is very well positioned for a variety of reasons and our recent traffic levels bear that case and point." He said that Delta and Comair traffic has rebounded significantly.
