Charity initiative at Cannes
Tax Free World Association has followed the lead taken by an exhibitor at the TFWA World Exhibition and agreed to support a charity for underprivileged people
Acting on the initiative of Tashia London, TFWA has arranged to provide a collection point for products left over at the end of the exhibition.
The collection is being organised in the name of Secours Catholique Caritas France, a non-profit making organisation which aims to fight poverty and exclusion of any kind.
The products, such as confectionery, toys, fragrances, gifts and small fashion accessories - but not alcohol or tobacco - will be used by Caritas to make up gift boxes for children and elderly people at Christmas time.
Exhibitors are being requested to take their donations to the collection point behind the internet area in Golden Village level 1 at the Palais des Festivals on the morning of Friday October 25, as the exhibition draws to a close.
"We are delighted to support this worthwhile cause," said TFWA Vice President World Exhibition Donatienne de Fontaines. "We appeal to our 450 exhibiting companies to help Caritas bring a sparkle to the lives of less fortunate people at Christmas time."
