Changi to open world's first luxury terminal

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has appointed the JetQuay joint venture to operate a luxury terminal at Singapore Changi airport, due to open in August. The dedicated facility will welcome "commercially important" passengers for a fee and will offer personalized services as well as first-class facilities including a lounge, gym and business centre.The terminal will be open to both arriving and departing passengers – on commercial or private aircraft – and will be linked to terminal two, allowing passengers to wait in luxury for their flights or check in with the help of personal assistants. It is operate by a joint venture comprising Worldwide Flight Services, a French airport and terminal services company; Superior Travellers Services, a company with experience serving the "commercially important persons" (CIP) market; and Sembawang Kimtrans, a local integrated logistics company.
CAAS director general Wong Woon Liong said, "The introduction of this facility is part of CAAS' efforts to provide the widest range of services, from budget to the most exclusive premium treatment, at Changi. We are confident that the new facility will appeal to the needs of CIPs who enjoy prestige and luxury travel."
The luxury terminal will house a small retail offer and will feature a delivery service allowing passengers to choose goods from stores at other Changi terminals.
