Passengers can enjoy a free LAN gaming room, a free cinema and a comics and games collectibles shop in the new area

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has opened a new multimedia zone at Singapore Changi airport terminal two’s departure/transit mall. The Entertainment Deck features a free LAN gaming room with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, music corners, a free cinema and a comics and games collectibles shop offering Japanese comics, graphic novels and fantasy books.

CAAS director-general and CEO Lim Kim Choon said: “The Entertainment Deck was created to converge various popular multimedia facilities into one dedicated area for passengers. As travellers ourselves, we understand how passengers appreciate the range of complimentary facilities available at Changi airport. The Entertainment Deck is part of CAAS’ efforts to constantly review and upgrade facilities to enhance the ‘Changi Experience’.”

To celebrate the launch, eight passengers took part in a FIFA 08 face-off. The winner took home a PlayStation 3 console and the runner-up won a PSP handheld.
