The new terminal opens this week and will offer display space for luxury brands to promote their products to a high disposable income passenger group
Singapore Changi airport's new luxury terminal, managed by the JetQuay joint venture, is set to open on August 17. The new facility, which will be used by "commercially important passengers" (CIP) for a membership or per-use fee, is to offer a duty-free concierge service to passengers and offers display areas for luxury brands to promote their products.A JetQuay spokesperson confirmed that allthough there is no retail space at the terminal itself, passengers will be able to select their purchases from a catalogue. The concierge service will then pick up the goods from stores in terminal two and deliver them to passengers before they board their flights.
Display cases located throughout the new terminal offer luxury brands a rare opportunity to promote their products to a highly targeted, high-spending audience. The terminal is intended for use by politicians, diplomats, business people, celebrities and other VIPs. The International Monetary Fund and World Bank annual general meeting, which will be held in Singapore next month and is expected to bring thousands of high earners to the country, will be the new terminal's first major opportunity.
