A flurry of promotional activity accompanied the opening of Singapore's budget terminal on March 26

Passengers using Singapore Changi's new budget terminal on its opening day yesterday (Sunday March 26) were treated to free gifts from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and lone airline tenant Tiger Airways, as well as a range of promotions from the terminal's thirteen stores and five catering outlets.

The dedicated low-cost carrier terminal welcomed 3,000 passengers on its first day of operations with free baseball caps, live music performances and samples handed out by an M&Ms mascot. Passengers spending more than S$50 ($31) in the departures lounge were entered into a "spin the wheel" competition in which they could win airline tickets and shopping vouchers.

CAAS also announced a regular weekly promotion called "Fabulous Friday", with all outlets in the terminal offering special discounts and promotions every Friday.
