Changes at William Grant & Sons signal diversification

Independent Scottish drinks business William Grant & Sons has announced some key management appointments as part of the company's growth plans for the next three years.

Heather Graham, who joined the company in 1998 as marketing director has been promoted to the new role of business development director with responsibility for growing the business through diversification. She will report to group managing director Patrick Thomas.

Graham is replaced as marketing director by Tim Dewey who recently joined the company. Dewey will be responsible for the continued growth of existing brands including Glenfiddich, The Balvenie and Grant's Scotch whiskies and its new product development strategy reporting to William Grant & Sons International's managing director Tony Hunt.

Patrick Thomas commented, "The changes reinforce our mission to become a more marketing-oriented, consumer-led company focusing on our existing international portfolio and looking at diversification into other areas."
