Celine Dion signs with Coty

Coty has got together with Canadian singer Celine Dion to develop and market a fragrance line

Coty has signed an exclusive global licensing agreement with the singer. It is the singer's first sortie into the beauty world, and Coty said the fragrance carrying her name will be designed to capture "the talent, style, femininity and confidence of which she has become a symbol".

The new licence is part of the company's strategy to develop "lifestyle" brands. Other brands in the line-up include the new licence with singer Jennifer Lopez, the Club Med and Helaing Garden ranges, and Rimmel, whose advertisements feature British supermodel Kate Moss.

Dion commented: "I wanted to partner with a beauty company that would develop a product in line with my values. Like creating music, it is important that beauty products appeal both to one's senses and emotions."

President Coty Beauty Americas Eric Thoreux added: "We are proud to be partnering with such a huge force in the music and entertainment world. Celine Dion is truly a symbol of the modern woman. She has an innate ability to manage a successful career and family with style and grace. She represents women's aspirations for a balanced, but exciting lifestyle.  Celine is a dynamic new addition to Coty's portfolio of brands."
