Cannes Show Preview: TFWA details social events

Exhibitors and delegates attending the TFWA World Exhibition in October will need to pack a sturdy pair of trainers as well as their order books and cocktail dresses. An extensive programme of sporting and social events has been confirmed this week.

In addition to the business of product launches and official functions, including the opening conference on Monday 22nd October and the TFWA Annual General Meeting for members on the 25th, a full social and sports programme will take place Sunday 21st. The day includes jogging, tennis, the annual Beauty Barbarians versus Latin Lovers rugby match and, for the first time, petanque, the version of boules indigenous to the south of France. The Welcoming Cocktail on Sunday 21st offers an opportunity for invited guests to meet up with friends and colleagues in the elegant surroundings of the Palm Beach. This year sees the introduction of an unusual ice-breaker: a range of wooden games of all ages from around the world which will provide a focal point for guests. The evening will culminate in a fabulous firework display as a fitting start to an exciting week.

The highlight of the week will be the Gala Dinner on Thursday 25th October, also at the Palm Beach, where vocalist George Benson should provide the invited guests with a wonderful evening.
