Canada's airports have reported first-half sales of over C$71m ($51.8m), down less than 2% on the same period in 2002. The figures, released by the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency this week, reflect the troubles that have hit the country this year, with the SARS epidemic, the resurgence of BSE and raging forest fires across western Canada all dissuading travellers to the region.
