The cognac house has extended its Chinese operations through a new distribution deal with winemaker Dragon Seal
Camus Cognac has signed an exclusive global duty-free distribution deal with Chinese winemaker Dragon Seal.
The 10-year agreement covers Dragon Seal wines and King Osmanthus wine, a sweet wine flavoured with Osmanthus flowers, which both join Camus' Spirit of China selection, which already includes Chinese spirit brands Gu Yue Long Shan and Moutai, and Chunghwa XO cognac.
The new brands will be made available in about 50 leading duty-free locations from Autumn 2007.
Camus Cognac president Cyril Camus commented: "We are extremely pleased to be given the opportunity to take the most quality-oriented brand of Chinese wines onto the world stage. Dragon Seal's innovative spirit, and in particular their attachment to producing wines of Designated Origin gives us full confidence in the long-term success of this project."
Sino-French joint venture Dragon Seal is China's largest wine exporter, but only exports about 10% of its annual production. Key export markets include France, Germany and Belgium.
