Intercontinental traffic helped to drive passenger growth with a 2.8% rise compared to August 2006. Travellers to and from the United Arab Emirates (up 11.5% from last August) and the Caribbean (up 5.6%) registered the highest increases.

Fraport added that group-wide passenger traffic in August exceeded 8m.
