Burke named ACI Europe president

Aer Rianta chief executive John Burke was unanimously elected president of ACI Europe until June 2004, at the 13th ACI Europe Annual Assembly yesterday. He was vice-president for the past year.

Aer Rianta chief executive John Burke was unanimously elected president of ACI Europe until June 2004, at the 13th ACI Europe Annual Assembly yesterday. He was vice-president for the past year.

Burke said: "European airports are facing unprecedented change on a number of fronts. In the short term, we are striving to cope with mounting security costs, reduced passenger traffic at many airports and the challenges posed by the evolving needs of our airline customers. Having effective representation by a professional team in Brussels is paramount to the viability of Europe?s airports."
