Romanian airport is used by low-cost carriers and had been closed since May
Bucharest Baneasa International airport has reopened for commercial flights after extended upgrades of its terminal and runway repairs. The airport, located in the northern side of the Romanian capital, closed down in May for the works and flights were diverted to Bucharest Otopeni, the citys main airport.
Baneasa officials expect airport traffic to increase by 30% to 1m passengers this year from 2006 despite the four-month closure. Companies operating at Baneasa include Blue Air, Wizz Air, MyAir, Germanwings, SkyEurope Airlines and AlpiEagles.
