Brussels International Airport Co (BIAC) today announced the winners of the retail concessions for the new 650m long Schengen concourse (pier A), scheduled for opening on May 15 2002. The concourse includes a total 4,000sq m (43,040sq ft) retail and catering area spread over two floors. The selection and award process was based on the ACI tender code.

Preferred bidders chosen on December 20 were Leading Interiors (lifestyle, design, culture), Coronel Tapiocca (travel and adventure shop), Music Stop and Kipling (leather goods and accessories).

The awards conclude the request for proposals for specialised retail concepts launched in August 2001. BIAC said space was made available for introducing four new concepts which had to be clearly complementary to the existing retail mix already available at the airport.
