Brussels South Charleroi Airport managing director Laurent Jossart has resigned
Laurent Jossart, managing director of Belgian low-cost airport Brussels South Charleroi, has resigned. He joined the airport authority in January 2002 after serving as finance director of budget airline Virgin Express."Brussels South Charleroi Airport and its management company BSCA are in good health and I am pleased to have accomplished my work," said Jossart. "Brussels South Charleroi Airport is today Belgium's second airport and is ready for new challenges. Within a few years it has become a major economic player in the Charleroi region and, with the new terminal, is well positioned to continue its growth and development."
Passenger traffic at Charleroi has grown rapidly since the arrival of Ryanair at the airport in 2001. In 2000 the airport welcomed 255,322 passengers; that figure grew to 1.87m in 2005 after reaching a peak of 2.03m the previous year.
Belgian Sky Shops is the incumbent retailer at the airport.
