Brugal launches travel-retail exclusive at Madrid
Siglo de Oro launches at the Brugal Bar at Madrid Barajas terminal four as consumer taste for rum matures
Liquor supplier Maxxium Travel Retail (MTR) has launched this month Caribbean rum Siglo de Oro by Brugal exclusively in travel-retail at the Brugal Bar in World Duty Free Group’s Aldeasa shop at Madrid Barajas airport terminal four.
The airport will be the only place the rum will be available in travel-retail for the first six months after its launch, where the supplier said it will meet a growing taste among consumers for super-premium rums. Siglo de Oro was created in 1988 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Brugal family legacy.
MTR marketing manager Mariska van Beukering said: “We have chosen Madrid airport for the launch of this product in travel-retail as the regular Spanish traveller is well-acquainted with Brugal rum and will appreciate the special qualities of Siglo de Oro’s unique maturation and crafting. Brugal is already the number one rum consumed in Spain and we hope to build on its reputation and standing with this new product in the range. ”
World Duty Free Group global head of liquor and tobacco David de Miguel said: “We are very pleased to be working closely with Brugal on the exclusive launch of Siglo De Oro.
