Brown-Forman appoints Bousquet-Chavanne

The group president at Estée Lauder Companies is to join the board of directors of the US liquor company from May 12

The Estée Lauder Companies group president Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne has been appointed to the board of directors of US liquor company Brown-Forman. The former head of Lauder's travel-retail business has been with the beauty house since 1989, and has presided over the company's international interests since 2001.

Brown-Forman chairman Owsley Brown said: "Patrick's insightful mind and his extensive experience as a consumer products marketer around the world, and as a leading executive at a family-controlled public company, make him an ideal addition to our board."

Bousquet-Chavanne said: "[Brown-Forman] has an outstanding portfolio of brands with global appeal, an admirable track record and a great tradition. I look forward to helping this dynamic organisation move forward."

Bousquet-Chavanne's election takes effect from May 12.
