TwoOne consortium is denied Bratislava airport after winning a 66% stake

The Slovakian government has withdrawn its sale of Bratislava airport after winner TwoOne consortium failed to have the bid verified by the Slovak anti-monopoly office.

The sale was approved in February after TwoOne, headed by Flughafen Wien, emerged as the winning bidder. The consortium was also the winning bidder for Slovakia's Kosice airport and the anti-monopoly office has approved this sale.

The anti-monopoly office has previously hinted that the Flughafen Wien-led bid was unlikely to go through due to the closeness of Vienna airport to Bratislava. With the airports within about 50km of each other, the office has raised concerns that Bratislava airport would be used as an auxiliary airport for Vienna.

Bratislava airport's privatisation is now on hold as the runner up consortium, led by Abertis and TBI, is not being given the option to purchase the airport.
