Wayne Boyd is to be replaced by new director John Maasland after steering the company through a transformational decade

Auckland International airport chairman Wayne Boyd is to resign from the company's board of directors after its annual general meeting on October 26, citing increased commitments in other roles. Boyd, who has served as chairman for 10 years, will be replaced by John Maasland, who was appointed a director of the company last week.

Maasland has held several senior executive positions and currently holds chairmanships for companies including The New Zealand Radio Network, South Auckland Health Foundation and the Royal New Zealand Ballet.

Boyd said: "Auckland has come a long way over the last 10 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the company. The company retains a very strong board and senior management team. It is well placed to deliver on the next stage of its development."
