Bosquez targets airport expansion in industry return

19-Oct-2002

Former World Duty Free Americas president and ceo Ramon Bosquez has said the main thrust of his new company's strategy will be to seek new airport duty-free concessions in the US, in partnership with Alpha Retail and Stellar Partners

His new company, Duty Free US, is a 10% partner in the new venture. He told TRW that his new company had no other plans as yet to develop other business beyond the partnership.

"Seeking new concessions, and evaluating any that arise in the coming months will be the main aim," he said. "Both Alpha Retail and Stellar Partners have been supportive, we have a good combined infrastructure and we think it's a good combination."

He added: "I've been in this industry for 12 or 13 years now and it gets into your blood. I've never had any intention other than to stay in the industry, and this gives me the opportunity to do so."
