Among the services that will be available at the new store are seasonal flu vaccinations and dedicated consulting rooms

UK high street and travel retail pharmacy chain Boots is trialling a range of new services at its London Heathrow terminal three outlet that will be implemented at its new terminal five store from March 2008. Consultant pharmacists and dedicated consulting rooms will be available for advice on a broad range of medical issues, and a seasonal flu vaccinations service will be implemented in partnership with mobile vaccination specialist Doctorcall. These are in addition to more traditional services offered by Boots, such as medication reviews and advice on giving up smoking.

BAA Retail head of category for health and beauty Catherine Peachey said: “In such a fast-paced world, people look for convenience when it comes to basic medical matters such as finding time for their flu jab, picking up their prescription and obtaining medical advice. Having your flu jab at the airport whilst you wait to board your flight is a service we are excited to offer passengers travelling through T5 next year."

Boots Heathrow airport group store manager Chris Melling added: “We are delighted to offer a comprehensive and broad range of services for passengers travelling through T5. As a trusted high street retailer, we understand the need for a quick and reliable service and the airport seemed a perfect place to expand our offering. We look forward to opening in March”.
