Boccardo re-elected as ACI Europe president

2-Jul-2002

Claudio Boccardo, general manager of SAGAT Turin Airport Management Co, has been re-elected as president of ACI Europe

The term lasts until June 2003.
The election took place at last week's ACI Europe Annual Assembly, Congress and Exhibition.

After his election, Boccardo said: 'European airports are facing unprecedented challenges on a number of fronts. In the short term, we are striving to cope with mounting security costs, reduced passenger traffic and a war/terrorism insurance crisis. Long term, we are developing solutions to the severe capacity constraints facing our industry. On both fronts, legislation is increasingly being enacted at a European level. Having effective representation by a professional team in Brussels is paramount to the viability of Europe's airports.'
