The UK wine specialist takes its first steps in the inflight pouring market

UK-based fine wine retailer Berry Bros & Rudd has won the exclusive contract to supply wine and champagne to Virgin Atlantic Airways. The three-year deal covers every class on the airline's 26 worldwide routes and includes an agreement that Berry's will provide wine training courses for Virgin cabin crew.

Commenting on Berry's first foray into the inflight pouring business, commercial director Mark Pardoe said: "The companies share a common outlook—to offer customers a choice based on innovation, high standards of service and expertise and a certain flair that sets us apart from the competition."

Virgin Atlantic director of customer services Paul Dickinson added: "Virgin Atlantic has selected Berry's because of its authority and buying power at the top end of the market."

Berry's also operates four wine stores at London Heathrow airport.
