Beirut is Virgin territory for music retailer

4-Feb-2003

Beirut Duty Free is to introduce music, video and electronic games retailer Virgin into its newly expanded retail area at Beirut International airport

The Virgin Megastore will occupy a 115sq m shop-in-shop within the Sound and Vision outlet in the main departures concourse.

The store is planned to open in early April 2003, and is part of ambitious expansion plans by Phoenecia-Aer Rianta. The move marks Virgin's first foray into Middle Eastern airport retail.

Said Beirut Duty Free General Manager Gerry Crawford: " We are absolutely delighted to have contracted with Virgin: it is a superb brand name, and is in line with our strategy of introducing the best brands and retail offer for our customers."
