Beijing still undecided on Olympic airport

The authority mulls the construction of an entirely new airport after dissenting voices deem Beijing's new terminal unfit for the expected Olympic influx

With the Olympics less than five years away, Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) is still undecided whether to build a completely new airport or add an extra terminal to the existing facility. Until recently plans were far advanced for a new terminal building. BCIA told DFNI last December that design consultants were being sought for the Rmb12bn ($1.45bn) expansion scheduled for completion in 2007.
