Bangalore announces tender shortlist

The Nuance Group and DFS Group are among retailers shortlisted for the duty-free retail concession at Bangalore

Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) has announced the shortlist for its duty-free, travel-retail and food and beverage concessions. The Nuance Group and local partner Shopper's Stop were shortlisted for space in both the international and domestic departures lounges, as well as all three food and beverage spaces in arrivals and domestic and international departures.

They will face competition for the 1,750sq m (18,830sq ft) international departures retail space from DFS Group, Dufry International, Alpha Airports Group and Gebr Heinemann, which is working with local partner The Oberoi Group.

Dufry is also bidding for retail space in domestic departures, along with Pantaloon Retail, one of Bangalore's biggest domestic retailers.

Joining Nuance on the shortlist for all three food and beverage units, which total 1,110sq m (11,943sq ft) of space, are HMSHost and SSP International. SSP is working on the bid with local partner Radhakrishna Hospitality Services Ltd.

They will face competition from Global Franchise Architects, The Oberoi Group, Alpha Airports Group and Café Coffee Day.

The tender briefing will take place on September 14 and 15 at Bangalore airport, with the final date for proposal submission set at October 18. The contract will be awarded in November.
