Bahrain Duty Free honoured at the Arab Travel Market Exhibition

Aer Rianta International-Middle East's flagship operation Bahrain Duty Free has won the Arab Travel Market platinum award for best duty-free shop in the Middle East and North Africa.

The award, which was voted for by customers and trade professionals, was presented to Bahrain Duty Free marketing and e-business manager Khalil Mohamed at the Arab Travel Market Exhibition gala dinner held in Dubai on May 4.

Chairman Farouk Al Moayyed congratulated management and staff for their hard work and achievement in placing Bahrain "at the forefront of travel-retail shopping in the Middle East". He also thanked "the dedicated and loyal customer base that have shown their appreciation by voting for Bahrain Duty Free".

In mid-2005 the retailer benefited from expansion of the retail areas at Bahrain airport, gaining 500sq m (5,380sq ft) of extra space as well as doubling the size of its arrivals shop.
