Bahrain Duty Free doubles arrivals sales

4-Dec-2003

Bahrain Duty Free has reported tremendous sales growth after opening an expanded arrivals store on November 23

Managing director John Sutcliffe told TRW sales so far were up by 112% on last year since the opening.

"We are delighted with the performance even though we still have to tidy the store up a little," he said. "Fragrances have done especially well as we have been able to give the category more space. The store as a whole is more open and double the size of its predecessors."

Sutcliffe added that revenue from arrivals stores represents 7% of Bahrain Duty Free's total revenue, but said the new store would include that figure.
