Bacardi Global Travel Retail sales manager for Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and the Balkan states Thomas Koch will manage the Nordic countries

Bacardi Global Travel Retail division regional manager Nordics Olav Jensen is to retire on August 31 after almost 42 years with Bacardi brands.

Jensen began his career in the orders department in Copenhagen in 1967 before assuming responsibility for the duty-free business in Denmark in 1970. In 2000 he was promoted to his current position as regional manager for the five Nordic countries. Jensen will be replaced by Thomas Koch, who joined the company as trade image manager in North Germany in 2002 and became premium brand manager for North and East Germany before taking up the position as Global Travel Retail division sales manager for Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and the Balkan states in 2007.

Bacardi regional director for Central and Eastern Europe and Middle East Hauke Marquardt said: “Olav did an incredible job over the years developing Bacardi’s core brands throughout Nordic travel-retail. Bacardi is one of the leading companies in this important region and his replacement Thomas Koch will now have the great challenge to build on that foundation to further develop the business.”
