BAA is introducing a trial home delivery service for intra-EU passengers later this month from its London Gatwick airport north terminal shops. Passengers flying within the EU can buy as much merchandise as they like at tax-free prices. BAA will deliver the goods to their homes through Parcelforce Worldwide with a fixed delivery charge of £5 ($7.30).

BAA said the service should enable delivery of bulkier items such as DVD players, TVs non-motorised scooters etc. Passengers could also buy cases of Champagne and wine at up to 20% off High Street prices, added BAA. The company's Retail Director Colin Hargrave said: "Market trends demonstrate that the demand for home delivery is on the increase, and the introduction of our trial service enables passengers to make the most of the savings available at BAA airports."
