BAA chooses airports designer

BAA has appointed architects to consult on design projects at its airports over the next five years, excluding the new Heathrow T5.

BAA has appointed architects Ruddle Wilkinson to consult on design projects at its airports over the next five years. The agreement, which encompasses BAA's seven airports, excluding the new Heathrow T5, starts this month.

Ruddle Wilkinson has already worked on projects at Heathrow, Gatwick, Jersey and Newcastle International airports. He will be sharing the workload with four other architects including Foster & Partners and Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners.

Ruddle Wilkinson has experience across a wide range of airport consulting services from strategic planning and asset assessment, through to concept design and detail design, for a wide range of airport buildings including passenger terminals and piers, engineering and cargo facilities, and operational centres.
