BA announces changes to inflight team

British Airways has reshuffled its inflight executives in the wake of sales and marketing manager Debbie Parsley's departure

British Airways (BA) has revealed details  of the restructure of the carrier's inflight retail team. Following sales and marketing manager Debbie Parsley's decision to accept voluntary redundancy, BA business manager client retail Bruce Holdroyd will take on her responsibilities while continuing to oversee BA's concession accounts with Monarch Airlines and MyTravel Airways. BA's contract with MyTravel expires in April 2004, when Alpha Inflight Retail will take over the supply contract. BA said it remained committed to its concession contracts despite its defeat in the MyTravel tender.

From November 1, BA inflight retail development executive Helen O'Sullivan will manage the company's supply contracts with British Mediterranean Airways and GB Airways.

Andrew Groom, who handled BA's Air New Zealand concession which expired in August 2003, is leaving the airline to take up a post with UK High Street pharmacist Boots.

BA head of inflight business Chris Allin is taking a six-month break from the company and will return to the airline in May 2004. Richard Cushing will become acting head of inflight business in Allin's absence. Allin's responsibilities as manager of inflight entertainment and media will be assumed by Andrena Pullen.
