Austria wins allowances case

The European Union (EU) has dismissed a complaint against Austria's policy of limiting its inbound tobacco allowance for travellers entering from neighbouring countries to 25 cigarettes

An Austrian resident registered the complaint after being forced to pay €16.80 ($21.25) in tax on 175 cigarettes after bringing a carton of 200 sticks back from Slovenia.
